The Excuse

Big has come up with a new excuse as to why he can't do things when asked. The conversations usually go a little something like this:

Me: "Big, can you please pick up the toy you got out?"

Big: "No, I'm sorry. I can't do that. I'm just a little bit sweaty."

Me: "I think you can still do it."

Big: "No, no, I really can't. I'm just too sweaty."

Aren't guys always sweaty?! Not much of an excuse if you ask me!

LOL
My nephew has a similar ploy - "No, I'm sorry I can't." "Why not?" "I don't want to." LOL At least the boys are both polite, right? : )

Heeheehee. Too sweaty?
Where did he get that?
Since when are boys too sweaty to do anything?:)

That was exactly my first thought, Sassy! But, apparently, this boy is too sweaty to do anything when that anything is something he doesn't want to do.

I've actually used it back a few times. He says, "I'm sorry you're sweaty, Mom." In total commiseration, like he knows just how bad it can be. Har.

Love this photo! The response I most often get is a very polite, "No thanks."

Maybe he's afraid that the sweat will affect his GRIP on the toy. Maybe he feels he's just too SLIPPERY to pick it up.

That is too funny. My 5-yr-old has been using "My knees hurt" lately. Um, yeah, whatever. I've just been watching you karate-chopping droids in the living room for an hour. I think your knees can put the silverware away.

Aren't they hilarious?! :)
