For Reals

Having Surgeon Bud in residence means I have experienced surgery dozens, maybe even hundreds, of times. Tomorrow I have to go in and have surgery yet again. But this time something is different-- it's for reals.

I have an ulnar nerve entrapment and it needs to be un-trapped. I had a dream that the doctor offered to throw in a tummy tuck to sweeten the deal-- I can't tell you how bummed I was when he told me (in real life) that it was a no-go. Life is so unfair.

Hopefully all of the many and varied surgeries Bud has performed on me have prepared me for the real deal.

I hereby declare tomorrow a holiday.

Happy Ulnar Nerve Un-Entrapment Day!

Hope you do something grand to celebrate.

I don't know what an ulnar nerve is, but trapping it doesn't sound so good. I DO know what your average nerves are, and untrapping them is definitely the way to go.

I know--I sound just like a doctor!

Hope all goes well, you feel better, and recovery is smooth!

Just got back-- a bit muzzy headed, but the nausea is the worst part. Thanks for the well wishes!

Jen-- you know how it feels when you hit your "funny bone"? Well, that's the ulnar nerve you're bonking. That's the sensation I had all the time.

Dr. jwise-- You're right, un-trapping it was the way to go. It was starting to cause permanent muscle loss, so needed to be dealt with.

Glad to hear it went well and I'm hoping it was as painless as one of Bud's surgeries...
