Play Time

Tonight was Pen's final performance of her middle school's production of Seussical Jr. It was fun to watch (much better than I expected from a bunch of middle schoolers) and Pen had a blast. She loved performing and the camaraderie she developed with all of her cast mates. I'm so glad she got the opportunity.

Okay, there will be no more narrative from me. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. And, yes, there are a lot of photos.

Okay, never mind. I will say this: I never knew Pen could shake her booty like that. I'm kinda proud. (I know you can't tell from the photo, but take my word for it. I never pegged her as possibly being good at the latin dances, but I just may be wrong.)

Aaaaand, BOW!

Great job, Pen! We love you!

(I admit that as I watched her tonight I kept thinking, "Can you imagine if she were only in 7th grade this year like she's supposed to be?" My heavens.)

Awesome! I love that she got to do something like that at the Jr. High level. She looks gorgeous too, of course. I think I made a promise a while back to sit on the front porch cleaning shotguns with you when the time for suitors came. You better hurry over here to Oregon so I can help you with that. It's obviously just around the corner!

Doing my best to make it there, Lisa Marie! Glad the offer of help still stands. ; )

It was a fun play and you got a lot of great pictures. It's a good thing she's getting braces...maybe that will fend the boys off for awhile. I wonder if she'll be one of those that doesn't smile while they have hardware on the teeth?

You are an amazing photographer. Every shot I take of my kids on stage is either blurry or black. These are phenomenal. Anyway, congrats to Pen!! When I was her age, I loved the stage--and you're right, the friendships you make there are fantastic. Way to go, Pen.

Thanks, jww, but I think in this situation it really boils down to the fact that I have a great camera and a fantastic lens. You can fly me and my equipment out to NY the next time one of your kids performs. ; )
